Financial support In the epidemic situation of COVID-19 in Ukhiya
In the epidemic situation of COVID-19, Resource Integration Centre (RIC) has been implementing a very short -term food and cash transfer programme titled “Special Support to Host Community (SSHC) for COVID-19 Response” in Ukhiya under Cox’s Bazar district with the financial support of World Food Programme (WFP) from April 2020.
The World Food Programme, Bangladesh in cooperation with Resource Integration Centre (RIC)has displayed extraordinary generosity towards host community during this predicament situation thinking about globally lock down due to COVID-19. However, the speed and scale of the affected EFSN beneficiaries of WFP exceeds the capacity of the host country and humanitarian community step up its support to respond to the immense needs on the ground.
Today (12 May, 2020) RIC has distributed cash grant (BDT 4500.00 per beneficiary) among the the 451 beneficiaries in Ukhiya under Cox’s Bazar district. Cumulative total: 869 beneficiaries.
We have also organized important training on mask production.
